About

As Everson Poe, Maxwell Shults has written, performed, produced, recorded and mixed well over 200 songs in the last few years. Originally just a guitar player, Maxwell taught himself how to play a handful of other instruments, as well as how to record on varioius analog devices, and eventually ProTools.

Defying classification in any one genre, Maxwell’s music is constantly evolving and garnering inspiration from various sources. Always personal but never pretentious, the majority of his work is instrumental. His lyrics are of a dream-like quality, weaving in and out of coherence. Collaborators occasionally lend their voices, or he makes due with his own. His scream is chameleon-like, adapting itself to function within the confines of any given song. With his expertly carved musical landscapes, Maxwell creates an environment in which you can simply get lost in the music and let go.

Nina Helene Hirten (Der Osnec)

Der Osnec (Nina Helene Hirten) is the unusually deep singing female voice that cries out like a siren over Maxwell’s crisp biting screams. Occasionally she will write lyrics to Max’s songs and she is one of Max’s main collaborators. She resides in Vancouver and uses the natural beauty of trees and mountains to inspire her singing and music.

Other Collaborators

Terrance Clinton Dick (Model M)

Model M is Der Osnec’s better half who always gives his blunt opinion using his expertise in music production and mixing. He also will occasionally make a vocal appearance on Max’s songs.

Rowan Henry Hamilton (hamiltron@gmail.com)

Rowan designed the new Everson Poe logo and also lent his vocals to the track “The Gifthorse”. Hailing all the way from Wollongong, Australia, Rowan’s long-distance collaboration and advice have brought a new energy to Maxwell’s efforts.

Zanna Snyder (Z)

Z’s contribution to Everson Poe comes in two forms: biggest fan and creator of fine self-portraiture. Each song on Maiden Of Fire has a picture of Z attached to it, each of which further convey the emotional content of the songs.

Justine Lee Hirten (http://jlhirten.tumblr.com/)

Justine is a long-time friend, a source of inspiration, and the creator of the cover art for both the Monument EP and Maiden Of Fire. She also offers design assistance and musical critique whenever applicable.
